Woodland is a small multi-age learning community that is located within the MHLT district school building. MHLT is a district that encompasses Minocqua, Hazelhurst, and the Lake Tomahawk areas. Woodland has students enrolled from these disticts and more. The majority of the land that the district covers is considered rural recreational and part of the "North Woods." Woodland is one of five schools that feed into the Lakeland Union High School which is also located in Minocqua. The numerous lakes, endless amounts of recreational activities, the beauty of the surrouding lands and the hospitality of the "small town" atmoshpere makes our community a great tourist destination. Our tourist industry, health care services, local retail stores and lumber industry are the heart of our economy. Our neighboring communities popultion totals up to about 9,000, which quadruples in the summer time. The environment that Woodland Progressive School is located in and the generosity and cohesiveness of the communities gives an endless amount of educational resources to Woodlands' students.
